Lake Sarnau – Turning Left Scooter Route

The Gravity experience is a focus more on "Adventure Sightseeing" with less physical input.

This is done by delivering the scooters to you, at the top of Parc Uchaf Gwydyr mountain, near the “Nant Bwlch yr Haearn” outdoor centre.

The FREE Car parking area gives you at starting height is 237.4 meters providing either a 5 or 5.5 mile route to discover.
There are a choice of two routes – we called Left or Right ( I know awesome names – better than Devils Gully or Hells Pathway !)

Allowing for standard stops and viewing points these routers will take you 1 hour and 15 minutes and your session allows for 1.5 hours.

Lake Sarnau – Turning Left Scooter Route

As you turn into the car park you can immeditely turn right into the car park or the track goes straight on. After you park up and we go through the sefaty briefing this is the track you go down.

IMPORTANT
It is the law, PEDESTRIANS ALWAYS have right of way ! Be curtious and always stop scootering to pass pedestrians on a typical pavement, as you do not want to bump into them.

The track start with a gentle incline but with a few hundred feet you have your first little hill. At the top of this is your first good view of the Mountain Moel Siabod.

This next bit is your first bit of speed so be careful. Apart from keeping your speed low you must remember to KEEP LEFT and head you the hill (NOT DOWN).  On walking up the hill you can take in your second view of Siabod and the Snowdonia mountain range. The track then heads down to a small lake, you must ensure you reduce your speed or you will not make the right hand bend – especially with the new lay down of stone gravel. After this bend is a flat which slowly descends to a foot of another incline.

At this incline STAY LEFT and at the top of this track is quite a fast route, (going right is a long walk home !!) This track weaves down to Llyn Parc ( Park Lake)

IMPORTANT
The forestry Commission ( Natural Resources Wales) constantly improve their tracks and you will find very large stones in the road.

The track from the lake is deceptive as it look like it is going uphil but actually quite a shallow incline until you get to the top.
At the top turn right down a path that become quite steep. Test Your Brakes ! The path narrows to a single lane and at the bottom of this is a sharp turn right onto a very Steep section with a very starp left turn at the bottom.

IMPORTANT
Please dismount and walk this section !

This next section is a Single track for quite some time, and have a severe drop on your right hand side.

IMPORTANT
This is a forestry footpath, and you will likely come across walkers. PEDESTRIANS ALWAYS have right of way ! Be courteous and ALWAYS stop scootering to pass pedestrians as you do not want either of you to come to harm !

This is such a nice track that goes all the way down to a surprise bowling green played on by Henry VII.  BE CAREFUL TAKING IN THE VIEW WHILST SCOOTERING ! best stop and take in the views. The end of this track is on a big bend of another track, ensure you slow down as you will miss the picnic area on the right that provides another superb view on the Conwy valley and Llanrwst on the 17 century viewing  mount and bowling green.

Yo are now on a wide track that is popular with Mountain Bikes and Walkers. Again this is a long stretch and you will build up speed. So Slow down as you will need to take left hand bend. Free wheel until you stop which will be basic round about. 50 yards a head of you will be The Nant View – a bench  with a view of your path back. Retrace your track back past the round about and you will see a path down to a tarmac road. At the tarmac road turn right.

Please ride slowly this is a steep hill, as at the bottom is a junction onto the main road. Dismount and walk along the main road to the Gwydir castle car park where the pavement starts to head back to Llanrwst.
Follow the pavement round to the right where you will be presented with the straight Nant Road, the B5106. On the pavement kick scoot to the start of the stone bridge over the river. Dismount and walk over the bridge, turn right onto the pavement. Await a gap in the traffic and walk over the road (A470) onto Watling street. Follow the road round where you will see the entrance to the Watling Street Car Park and the Bike Hut.
